First came design data surveys in 1982, then environmental services were added. SLS branched out into erosion and sediment control planning and permitting and reclamation work in 1988, project management for construction projects in 1991 and services to help locate and develop pipelines in 1996. Construction clients include the West Virginia School Building Authority and U.S. Bureau of Prisons. Since 1998 SLS has primarily served the oil and gas industry and has been adding equipment to better serve industry needs. SLS’s most recent acquisition is a fleet of specialized mapping drones that can find gas and spot leaks from the air.
